Tokoname Bonsai Pots - Made in Japan

This subcategory contains all of our bonsai pots that are made in & imported from the city of Tokoname in the Aichi Prefecture of Japan. The city has been famous for its superb ceramics production since the Heian period (running from 794 to 1185). Tokoname is one of Japan's six most important ancient kiln towns. Visitors today can see the cityscape dotted with many old kiln chimneys. Many high quality tea pots and exquisite bonsai pots are still produced here. However, Tokoname has recently received renewed interest as it's Japan's foremost producer of maneki neko figures or "beckoning cats" (i.e. the cat figures with the raised waving paw thought to invite good luck).

(!) Most bonsai pots from Tokoname are considered to be premium quality luxury pots reserved for displaying stellar specimen bonsai trees due to their higher prices. (!)

Shipping Bonsai Pots Cost:
Due to their breakable nature and often heavyweight for their size, all of our ceramic bonsai pots have manual flat rate shipping costs associated with them. We make sure to pack them in dense foam inside our boxes for better protection. Based upon your distance from our bonsai nursery store in Lakewood, CA 90713 (which is Southern California), you may be charged extra to fully ship it to you. If you are purchasing multiple ceramic bonsai pots, we may be able to combine them into fewer boxes to save on high shipping costs. Please email us at houseofbonsai@gmail.com with your Order # to inquire about this. Please note that not all ceramic pot models are eligible for this combined shipping discount. Certain ceramic pot models require specially individualized packing where they must be in their own box.
