Our product prices listed online are the same as if you're physically shopping in-person at our 5.3 acre bonsai nursery store!


Please understand that the actual tree that you receive from us at House of Bonsai may be different than the example images provided. This is due to a wide range of factors such as: time of year, seasonal variations, differences in trimming & styling on individuals, natural changes during growth over time, etc. Our staff members ARE NOT ABLE to always provide recent photos of any bonsai & pre-bonsai trees for you to pick from due to our limited staff size; even when a written and/or phone request is submitted. House of Bonsai is a high production-oriented bonsai specialty nursery so we don't have the means to constantly pull ourselves away from production to take more photos of our ever-changing pre-bonsai & bonsai trees. This policy ensures that we're able to maintain a huge selection of different species, shapes, and sizes at reasonable prices for the public.


If you require a tree to look just like the photo, please visit our official eBay store and look for one of our numbered trees (such as "Japanese Black Pine #44 Bonsai Tree") where we take photos at multiple angles of the same tree. Otherwise, it is always highly recommended that you visit our bonsai nursery store in-person to select a tree yourself. Sometimes it is difficult to take a good photo that will showcase the beautiful structure in its full glory.


House of Bonsai mostly relies on USPS Priority Mail to ship our online orders to most US addresses to be received within 2-4 business days once dropped off at a USPS Post Office Branch. Because of this, we are able to ship to all 50 US states and all of the US Territories such as Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, and the US Virgin Islands. However please note that for faraway locations from us in Lakewood, CA (such as Alaska, Hawai'i and the US Territories) may require an additional shipping cost payment before we are able to ship it due to our usual flat rate shipping charge not being enough to cover the purchase of an insured shipping label.


Our shipping team primarily ships orders that contain live bonsai and pre-bonsai trees on Mondays and Tuesdays; to try and limit the amount of days that your tree is stuck in a sealed shipping box. Ideally, we do not wish for it to get stuck in a shipping carrier warehouse over the weekend as this will extend the transit time by 1-2+ days and likely increase the post-delivery stress on the tree. Most of these kinds of orders are received by Wednesday to Friday at the latest within the same week; depending on your location from our store.


For orders that contain non-live bonsai and pre-bonsai trees, such as soil, pots, tools, wire, fertilizer, etc. We do continue to ship from Monday through Thursday. Any orders that are placed on Fridays through Sundays will be grouped together to be fulfilled on the following Monday (or Tuesday if that Monday is a federal holiday).


On occasion, we do use FedEx Ground and UPS Ground to ship orders. Depending on the shipping carrier and time of year, your actual delivery completion timeframe may be vastly different than indicated in these estimated shipping transit map images shown in the full Shipping, Return & Cancellation Policy pagePlease note that most of our products at House of Bonsai will have a flat rate shipping cost. This amount is disclosed in the product’s description. 


For some items (except for bonsai soil), House of Bonsai may be able to combine them into fewer boxes and be able to refund you the unused portion from the total shipping costs. Please email us with the title "Combine Shipping Cost on Order #" at to see if we are able to do this for you. Please note that it is not a guarantee that we can combine all items together; depending on the item's size and fragility.



Actual Shipping Cost May Vary:
Depending on your zip code and distance from our 5.3 acre bonsai nursery store in Lakewood, CA 90713 (within Southern California), there may be an additional shipping charge that we need to collect from you for us to finish the fulfillment if you live in “very far away from our store areas” such as: near the New England region, Hawai’i, Alaska, Puerto Rico, the US Territories, etc. Please understand that we have no control over the shipping rates since that is determined by the common carrier (such as USPS, FedEx, UPS, etc) at the time we create the insured shipping label. The shipping rates can vary at any time throughout the year due to a wide variety of factors such as changes in gasoline prices, weather challenges during transit, etc.
