Guangzhou Bonsai Pots - Made in China
Guangzhou (aka Canton) is the capital and the largest city of Guangdong province in southern China. It lies at the heart of the most-populous built-up metropolitan area in China. The city has a history of over 2,200 years and was a major terminus of the maritime Silk Road and continues to serve as a major port and transportation hub, as well as one of China's three largest cities.
There's a long history of artisans producing all kinds of ceramic ware; especially Cantonese porcelain which had developed over the past three centuries as one of the major forms of exportware during the 18th and 20th century. It's known all over the world for its highly colorful style.
Because of its location on the Pearl River, Guangzhou hosts many ceramics and clay artisans including some bonsai pot makers in the area, such as the famous Yuehe Market. There you can find a wide variety of merchants that show off their creations to anyone that wants to pass by the stalls.
(!) Please note that the ones that we bring from Guangzhou will be of "standard quality". (!)
This means that they are not as smooth nor as refined as our deluxe or premium quality bonsai pots. They may have rough patches on its sides and corners, the feet and sides may be a tad misshapen, and sometimes they may have small cracks from the kiln firing process.
But that doesn't take away from its usability of being a good vessel for your bonsai tree for an affordable price! They can still be a reliable option for those that want to have the look and feel of a ceramic bonsai pot without breaking your wallet.
