The Prostrata Juniper is one of the most popular traditional tree choices for an Asian Garden Landscape yard design. It's a friendly species that harmonizes well with any other plant species that you have around it; even in small compact garden spaces. Anyone can easily maintain its styled shape thanks to its slower growth versus other juniper varieties.

Its foliage is a gray-green and has a tangy yet sweet scent to it. The way that it grows more leaves are through cone-like buds at the ends of older foliage that open up into soft tiny spiked scale-like needles. They're so soft that you can pinch off the extra growths in autumn with your fingertips. It develops many ornamental gray-green berries during the winter. If you're a bird lover, this is a great choice to attract them into your yard because they love eating the berries!

The healthy trunk on this species makes it a great candidate for creative work like adding deadwood (jin and shari) carvings and grafting small branches of softer foliage junipers like Shimpaku Juniper.

Our Prostrata Juniper trees are some of our oldest styled bonsai in stock! These have been trained by us since the start of the nursery. We have a variety of classic shapes to choose from including informal upright and slanting styles.

The 24 Inch Wide Wooden Boxes have the same rootball size as those in the 25 Gallon Pots. We treat them as the same sized tree in both versions.

Due to the extra large size and very heavy weight of this garden bonsai tree, this item is only available for local delivery in Southern California only. For any other areas, please email us at houseofbonsai@gmail.com for special arrangements.

House of Bonsai reserves the right to delay on shipping any live plant order by several days; in order to attempt to decrease the high risk of major shipping related stress that may shock the plants during extreme weather conditions (too hot or cold). If we are purposely delaying your order because of this, we will notify you via email. Before you submit an order, please be mindful of your local weather and time of year. If there is major damage (ex: plant is dead or many branches are broken), please contact your third party shipping carrier (ex: USPS, FedEx, UPS) to submit an insurance claim with them as we are not able to assist with that matter. The fault is with the third party shipping carrier for such damage since it happened out of our hands. We are not responsible for any damages after the order leaves our facility since they were out of our control. If the bonsai tree is still alive but weakened due to shock (leaves are yellow-brownish or leaves have fallen off) then we are happy to assist in proving post-delivery plant shock care instructions via email to revive the plant. Please notify us by email of the issue within 48 hours upon receiving the order in hand. Please email us at houseofbonsai@gmail.com with your Order # and the keywords "Shock After Delivery" in the title so we can assist ASAP. For further details, please read our full "Shipping & Return Policy" under About Us in our top menu.
